Texas Grandparents Have Rights
At this time, grandparents may petition Texas courts for visitation or custody if
any of the following circumstances apply:

petition
- The child's parent dies or is determined legally incompetent
- The child has been a victim of domestic violence or neglect
- The child's parents have had their parental rights terminated
- The child has been determined a delinquent in need of supervision
- The child's parents are divorced, separated for more than three months, or in
the process of divorce

period preceding filing a petition
Every Child Deserves the Affection Only a Grandparent Can Offer
At Von Blon & Associates, we understand that visits with grandparents are a
key part of a child's development. We also know that situations exist where
the child of an unfit parent needs to be in a place where he or she is loved, cared
for and nurtured. We encourage grandparents to contact our office as soon as a concern arises for powerful
representation focused on establishing or maintaining the well-being of a child.
